Egg Hunt and Pictures with the Easter Bunny

First I want to give everyone an update on my Lyla. We traveled to Dupont Children"s Hospital on Thursday, April 7. We saw Dr. Bober and he gave her a very thorough examination. She got her first cold on March 29th and I had explained to Dr. Bober that I was waiting for the ear infection. I was like....."Ok here come the ear infections"! Since then Lyla has been very healthy. I took her to the pediatrician on Saturday, April 2 to see if there was an ear infection and the Dr. said she had fluid in her ears but they were not infected. Dr. Bober then explained that if her ears do not drain on their own that she would definitely have to get ear tubes very soon. So after Dr. Bober's exam, they did x-rays and he basically said Lyla looks great and that he has no major concerns other then her ears having fluid. Eddie took her back to the pediatrician on April 8th and the Dr. said no ear infection and no FLUID!!!!! Yeah!!!! She survived her first cold with no ear infection. I don't know how this could be but I'll take it!!! Woohoo!!!

Now lets get back to our egg hunt. I started an annual Egg Hunt in my neighborhood four years ago right before Emma was born. I came up with this idea one day just sitting around. Each house would put eggs on their front lawn and we would walk around the neighborhood with all the families we would go on a giant egg hunt. I make signs for all the houses and each family must hang the "Egg Sign" on their front door so the kids know which houses have eggs. Each year all the houses get involved and it is a huge event for the children. I know these things sound corny but I am all about the CHILDREN! I just wanted to start a nice tradition for the children of our community (I started many other traditions too but they come later in the year!) My husband dresses up as the "Easter Bunny" and it is so hilarious! Every year I almost pee my pants watching him come out of our house to greet all the kids. This year he was the best damn Easter Bunny in the world! So cool and funny with the kids! Walking around High-Fiving, taking pictures with all the families. It is so great! Everyone loves it! I do feel bad for him though cause he says the costume is soooo hot! Here are some pics of our huge 4th annual egg hunt. With us as the host and hostess!

LPA Regional Islanders Chapter

This was the best weekend ever! We had such an amazing time. We got to see so many people and meet so many more families. Everyone wanted to meet Lyla because she is the newest member of the LPA. As always we were welcomed with open arms. The regional was a 3 day event starting on Friday, March 25. We got to the hotel around 4 pm and we all got ready. Here are several pics from that wonderful night!

At the party was a company who did airbrushing. I had this T-Shirt made. Everyone loved it! By the end of the weekend people took my slogan! It was the phrase of the weekend.

The morning of Saturday, March 25th we were tired but ready to start a very long and fun-filled day. We dropped Emma off at the "Kid Room" and off we went to workshops. At 12:00 we picked her up for a photo shoot appointment for a website Jim and Darlene Korpai are putting together to help educate the public on dwarfism. But Emma's face was painted so we left her in the kid room and Eddie, Lyla and me took the pics. Once I have them I will post them online. We ended up going back at 4:15 to take more photos of the 4 of us! It was great and we are so happy we will be a part of the website! We can't wait for the finished product!

Emma BEFORE face painting!

After the photo shoot we went and got Emma and we went out to lunch. A place called "Houstons". Then we took the girls to the Nassau Children's Museum. Emma had a lot of fun running around with her dad!

I was eating Twizzlers and decided to give one to Lyla. She loved it! LOL

We all showered and got ready for the evening! I didn't take that many photos because there was a really cool photo booth there and we kept going into that and taking pics. Here are a few from the Banquet dinner.

Me and my Buddy Jon. When he came to my house and we first met, I told him he was so handsome! All the girls love him!

Don't know if anyone watches the show..."Cake Boss". Well this is a cake he made for our event! Our chapter ROCKS!!!!

We are so exhausted here. Lyla had enough!

A magician from "America's Got Talent" performed!

There were so many people! What a great turnout!

The end to a FABULOUS weekend! We left that night and got home around 11:00 pm. We were all exhausted! We can't wait for more regional parties! Our chapter really knows how to host a party! Mike and Karen did an amazing job organizing such a spectacular event. Emma keeps talking about the weekend and she keeps saying she wants to go back to the hotel! We all want to go back!
