These five years have been so amazing and as Lyla gets older I realize she truly is like any other kid. She successfully started Kindergarten and is doing well. She has tons of friends, she plays soccer and goes to dance class. This girl of mine is such a spitfire! Her infectious personality reminds me everyday that her size means nothing and she can accomplish so much. She is going to conquer the world! Happy happy birthday to our beautiful daughter! You are a very special young lady who brings nothing but joy to everyone around you! May all your dreams come true always. Here are some pics from her birthday celebration.
This blog was established in 2010 to honor our daughter Lyla who was born with Achondroplasia (the most common form of dwarfism). To learn more about Achondroplasia please visit....

Lyla's 5th Birthday!
Lyla had a huge 5th birthday party featuring a balloon twister, face painter, magician, DJ, Mister Softee, candy table, relay races and our pool. With approx. 150 guests Lyla had a ball! Running around with all of her friends. Her guest list were friends from her kindergarten class, her Pre-K class from last year, neighborhood friends, family and friends from our local gym. We had 70 children in our backyard. Lyla was so happy and can't stop talking about her birthday. She told me she had the BEST time! I'm so thrilled that it was a gorgeous day and everyone could come and celebrate our beautiful daughter turning 5!

Happy Birthday Lyla! What a fantastic celebration! She's getting to look so grown up! Great update as usual. When I finally get to meet you (hoping this year in Boston!) it will be like we already know each other :) :) I love hearing how school is going! Lyla and Ryan seem to share some similar traits in personality ... physical size is the only thing small about them! :) <3
