Christmas Weekend 2011!

   Emma's Holiday Show
Our Xmas weekend started off with Emma's Winter Wonderland Show at Pre-school. Her Aunt Michelle came with Cousin Katie. We were cracking up at how adorable the kids were and Emma was dancing and singing her heart out which I love to see! After, we celebrated by going to our favorite ice cream place.....FRIENDLY'S! This family loves ice cream!!!! Here are some pics of my "Star" Emma at her show.

Lyla turned 15 months and Dr. Check-up!
Lyla turned 15 months on Dec. 21st! She went to the ENT for an ear tube check. Her Dr. said her tubes look great but her tonsils were enlarged. Her tonsils are not infected so he said he will keep an eye on them to make sure of any future complications. She has no sleep apnea issues and no eating issues at this time so he said not to worry.
Lyla also went to her pediatrician for a well visit! Lyla hates doctors! She got two shots and cried the entire time. At the current moment she weighs 17 lbs. 6 oz.  Her height is 25 1/4 inches. Her head circumference is 51 cm. She is still the happiest child in the world! Crawling everywhere like a pro! She can pull herself up to stand and can walk while holding on to objects. She still only says..."Mama" and "Dada". I told her pediatrician that I was a little concerned about this and she told me that if we see no improvement with her speech by 18 months to call Early Intervention so she can get speech therapy. She understands everything that we say. So her receptive language is good. I know children with Achondroplasia have low muscle tone and this can effect their speech. I will definitely keep a look out for improvement or not. She just learned how to sip from a straw and this is very good for speech development and forming sounds. So hopefully it will all fall into place. I will keep everyone posted. Here are some updated pics of my beautiful 15 month old!

Christmas Eve
Christmas eve started out with Emma and I getting our weekly mani's and pedi's in the morning! I love my girlie time with Emma. She got snowmen painted on her toes and couldn't stop talking about Santa coming and giving her presents! She is at the perfect age for the whole Santa thing! Then we all got ready to go to Eddie's parents house to spend the afternoon with Aunts, Uncle, Cousins, and Great-Grandma. We arrived at 3pm and didn't leave until 9:15pm. I couldn't believe how well behaved the kids were considering my girls go to bed very early. Lyla goes to sleep at 6pm and sleeps till 7am and Emma goes to bed at 7:30pm and wakes up at 7am. Both girls sleep all night! We are very lucky! So considering it was way past their bedtime they were amazing! Here are pics of Xmas Eve!

My two sweeties!

Look at Lyla's bow! It's bigger than she is!

These two love each other!

When we got home Emma and Daddy went to sprinkle reindeer food on the front lawn!

Emma in her Xmas pajamas! We left cookies and milk for  Santa!

After the kids went to bed Eddie and I set all the toys up. Now let me tell you we started wrapping presents on Wed. night (Dec. 21st) and didn't finish until Fri. night (Dec. 23rd). All three nights we started at 8pm and didn't finish until Midnight! We went overboard with gifts! We definitely spoil the girls and we love doing it! It took us two hours to set up their presents on Christmas Eve. We were so excited to see Emma's face on Christmas morning!
Christmas Day!
Christmas morning was definitely special! Emma woke us up at 7am and she ran into our bedroom. She said," Mom and Dad Santa came and there's like 100 presents down there!" Eddie and I started cracking up! Lyla then woke up and Eddie got his video camera and started recording the girls. I of course was snapping pics like crazy! Emma kept screaming with all her gifts! Here are lots of pics from Christmas morning in the Granshaw household!

The pictures are no justice the amount of gifts the girls got!

Lyla in her new excersaucer and Emma playing with her sister!

Lyla was more interested in the bows than her actual presents!

Emma loves this cool bicycle it is a 360 degree swivel bike! She keeps riding around the house !

This is the gift Emma wanted this Xmas!

She wanted this gift too! We already baked cookies in it!

Emma loves her new play kitchen! It took daddy 3 hours to put it together! After he was finished he said," Santa is not getting any credit for this present! We are saying this is from Mommy and Daddy"! LOL
That is exactly what we told Emma! That night she said to Eddie and I..."Thanks for the kitchen you guys! You are the best Mommy and Daddy in the world!" Emma is soooo sweet!

Giving daddy some coffee she made especially for him from her new Kitchen!

The girls having fun playing with each other!
Mommy's Presents!  Eddie is a very generous guy! Every Christmas since we met he goes crazy with gifts for me. I love every second of it! This Xmas I asked for an IMac computer! It was delivered two weeks before Christmas and Eddie set the whole thing up for me. The new printer, keypad, wireless mouse, etc. So I couldn't believe the other presents I received on Xmas morning! He always picks out the best gifts for me since he knows me so well. He is the best hubby in the world!  I couldn't display every present. So I just put up my favorites!

UGG Boots!

The new IPhone

Coach bag

Matching wristlet

A new digital camera to take pics of our girls!

Here is my #1 gift....my new IMac. It is so awesome. Still trying to figure out some of it's features!

Emma helping Daddy open up some of his presents! Eddie never wants any gifts.  He just wants to get us gifts. He is very hard to buy for because the guy has everything! If he wants something for himself he just buys it. He got a lot of gifts but nothing very big.

After gift giving I made a delicious breakfast while Eddie put some toys together for his girls

There's Katie's Dollhouse

It's Lyla's turn!

She loved this kitchen and couldn't care about the other gifts!

Emma also got a dream catcher for Xmas. I had someone make it for me to match her room!

We hung it up in her room right away! It matches perfectly.

  3. WOW! That's an over the top amazing Christmas :o)

I love that Emma had a Christmas performance at school. How cute. That is one thing Caden's school doesn't do :o( I feel like I'm missing out on some cuteness opportunities!

Eddie spoiled you with gifts! Dan got me an iPhone as well. I have a lot to learn on it. I think Caden already has it figured out for me. Smarty!

Emma's room is so cute! So girl! So Pink! Love it!

Hooray for a good checkup for Miss Lyla. That is so great that she doesn't have sleep apnea.

  4. Wow, what an amazing Christmas! Emma must have been beyond excited this year...she is the perfect age for the Santa magic! I'm sure she is enjoying all her new gifts! Have you taken a trip to the American Girl Store yet? I would love to bring Grace! Maybe we can have a girls' day out!
Lyla is just looking so grown up and more beautiful with every post! I'm so glad her checkups went well. Liam is still not talking very much either, but like Lyla, understands everything we say. So I am with you, I'm not too worried until after the 18 month mark. Seamus received speech therapy for 2 years and it was wonderful.
I hope you all have a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
