Mother's Day and Lyla's Ear Tube Surgery

 Mother's Day 2012!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this past Sunday! I went on a shopping spree (courtesy of my hubby) and then a got to hang with my sister and the girls. In the evening we went out to dinner with Eddie's side of the family. We had a delicious dinner and I enjoyed spending the day with the three loves of my life......Eddie, Emma and Lyla! Here are a few pics from Mother's Day! I LOVE BEING A MOM!!!!!!!!!!

Eddie gets me a corsage every mother's day from the girls as a small gift and I wear it proudly!
Emma helped him pick it out!

This was by far the best gift I received! This is a painting from my sweet Emma Grace! It is a sea shell!
She made it for me at her art class! You have to see the paintings she makes in her classes!
I have them all over my house. This one is in my foyer!

Here we are getting ready to meet everyone for dinner! As you can see Lyla didn't
want to pose for pics! She wanted to hold the keys instead! LOL This was the best pic Eddie
was able to get of the three of us!

Lyla's Ear Tube Surgery!
We headed to Dupont Children's Hospital in Delaware for Lyla's second
set of ear tubes. The right tube fell out and she was getting fluid build up in her ear.
This can lead to hearing loss ifnot taken care of. So we headed to her specialists on
Tuesday, May 15th for pre-op surgical procedures.
Eddie always makes traveling fun for us! He never wants Emma to think this is
a boring trip. He stocks up on snacks and buys Emma things to keep her occupied
while talking to the doctors. After all the pre-surgical stuff we booked a room at the
Marriott and went out to dinner with the girls. Next we got some ice cream sundaes
at Lucy's. Lastly, we got our bathing suits on and enjoyed the indoor pool! Emma
loves to go swimming! Lyla's surgery wasn't until 11:40am the following day
and I was worried she would be starving! Luckily I could give her Jello and
Apple Juice up until 2 hours before her surgery and thats what I did! She was pretty
happy before the surgery! Her surgery went well and we headed back to Long
Island soon after.  Lyla was cranky in the car ride home! We made it safe and sound
and hopefully these tubes will last a little longer than the first pair! Here are a
 few pics from Lyla's surgery!

  1. Thanks for your comments, sounds like we have a lot in common! And it's so nice to know other moms going through the same things.
Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Your girls are beautiful! Love your pictures.
It looks like Lyla's ear surgery went well. Seems she "goes with the flow" ... It's so impressive to me how our babies can handle things. :)
    Have a good memorial weekend!
